On the eve of the last round, the intrigue in the championship fight in the Belarusian championship heated up to the limit. Shakhtar Soligorsk, under the leadership of Roman Grigorchuk, was just one point behind the championship leader Borisov BATE. Which of these clubs will become champion was decided in the matches against the Minsk teams. The miner at home hosted FC Minsk, who occupies the tenth position, while BATE played away from home against Dynamo Minsk, who are in sixth position.

Last year’s champion, Dynamo Brest with Milevsky and Noyok in the team, before the last round took fifth place and claimed a maximum of bronze.

The miner began the fight with active pressure throughout the field. Already in the eighth minute of the match, Yakhshiboev won a dangerous free kick, but the blow landed on the wall. Two minutes later, Grigorchuk’s men scored, but the referee registered an offside position. Meanwhile, the start of the fight in Minsk was quite smooth, in the first ten minutes the game was mainly played in the center of the field, without dangerous moments.

In the 18th minute, Miner ran into a quick counterattack from Minsk, which was successfully completed by Gleb Zherdev. Grigorchuk’s charges were immediately rushed to recover and on the first attack, after the ball was played from midfield, Yakhshiboev’s head hit the crossbar. Then, however, Minsk moved the ball to the opponent’s half of the field.

It was not easy in the Belarusian capital and BATE, where in the 20th minute Borisov’s defender pulled out a hand in the penalty area, but Shikavka failed to convert the penalty. At the same time in Soligorsk, Shakhtyor midfielder Yuri Kendysh, having wonderfully beaten the Minsk defender, worked his way to the far corner of the goal – 1: 1, and everything returned to its original position. In the 29th minute of the game, the Shakhtar Podstrelov midfielder came out dangerously one-on-one with the Minsk goalkeeper, but was unable to beat him. Five minutes later, Yakhshiboev launched a dangerous free kick, but the goalkeeper saved again.

BATE did not force events in their fight, trying to keep the ball. The impression was that Borisov’s people were playing to exhaust the opponent. In Soligorsk, at the end of the first half, Shakhtar actively pushed again, causing several consecutive corner kicks at the gates of Minsk, but failed to score. In a parallel duel, the BATE at the end of the half began to put pressure on the Dynamo – the capital team tried to seek their fortune in the counterattacks, but it was also in vain – 0: 0. Therefore, after the first halves, the Qualifying situation did not change: BATE was still one point ahead of Shakhtar.

The second half in Soligorsk started with massive attacks from Shakhtar, one of which ended with a dangerous shot on goal, the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball. However, in the 52nd minute, Miner again ran into a counterattack. The Soligorsk club goalkeeper managed to ward off the dangerous first blow, but Shramchenko immediately appeared on the shot, who calmly sent the ball into the empty goal. 1: 2 and Shakhtar again had to score twice.

In Minsk, meanwhile, a rather tough match continued, in which the Dynamo looked even slightly more dangerous than the championship contenders. The miner continued to attack, however, the actions of Grigorchuk’s team began to feel nervous and rush, which often led to unnecessary actions and blows from awkward positions. In the 64th minute, Miner came close to disaster, when a Minsk player suddenly fired from forty meters – the crossbar saved.

In the 67th minute, another massive attack by the Miner ended with a dangerous blow from Ivanovich – the Minsk goalkeeper saved him. In Minsk, in the 65th minute, BATE’s attack triggered a dangerous shot from an acute angle: the Dynamo goalkeeper managed to move the ball into the corner. In the 72nd minute, Miner managed to win a free kick from the left wing. Artyom Arkhipov managed to close Bodula’s serve with his head perfectly. The score was 2: 2, but the hosts had to score another goal.

The missed ball forced Minsk to activate, which three minutes later launched a dangerous counterattack again, but this time Shakhtar’s defenders were in place. In the 85th minute, Minsk was in the minority, the referee sent off Sazonchik for delaying time. However, the attempts of the final assault by the Miner could not yet become a real danger to the gates of Minsk. The referee added six minutes to the main time, during which the Miner had to score.

The miracle happened in the 92nd minute – Begunov closed a corner from the far flank – 3: 2 in favor of Minero! In the final seconds of the match, Bodul, having beaten the Minsk goalkeeper, failed to pass through the defenders and increase the gap on the scoreboard. But a minute later, Arkhipov still scored Miner’s fourth goal and his second goal in this match: 4: 2!

At the same moment, in Minsk, the match ended in a goalless draw, meaning that Shakhtar were one point ahead of BATE and became the Belarusian champions. This is the success of two Ukrainian coaches at once: Yuriy Vernidub, who managed Shakhtar for most of the season, and Roman Grigorchuk, who worked as the head coach of the Soligorsk club for the last eight rounds of the championship.

Shakhtar (C) – Minsk 4: 2 (Kendysh, 24, Arkhipov, 72, 90 + 7 Runners, 90 + 2 – Zherdev, 18, Shramchenko, 52)

Dynamo (Minsk) – BATE 0: 0 (in minute 21 Evgeniy Shikavka (Dynamo) missed the penalty)
