In Donbas, an OSCE patrol was detained at a checkpoint
A mission patrol with seven members was stopped. The incident took place at a checkpoint in the Donetsk region.
The separatists detained a patrol from the OSCE Special Supervision Mission at a checkpoint in the uncontrolled part of the Donetsk region, SMM reported in its report.
“At approximately 12:15 on October 29, at a checkpoint near Yelenovka (not controlled by the government, 23 km southwest of Donetsk), citing” the need for permission from their commanders, “members of the formations Armed forces detained a seven-member mission patrol in four cars heading from Donetsk to government-controlled areas, “the report says.
At the same time, at approximately 2:10 p.m., after a delay of approximately two hours, the mission patrol was allowed to pass, after which the patrol advanced towards the separatist zero checkpoint located approximately 2, 5 kilometers southwest of Yelenovka.
Observers point out that this delay in access increases the restriction on the freedom of movement of the SMM through the contact line, preventing the fulfillment of the mission’s mandate.
Let us remind you that two soldiers died in the Donbas, two were injured. The separatists targeted the positions of the Ukrainian army near Vodyanoye. The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had to respond to the provocations of the enemy.
The day before, it was also reported that an AFU fighter was injured in Donbas. The incident was reported to the OSCE representatives through the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of Ceasefire Issues in Donbass.
