The second Trump-Biden debate
In the United States on October 22, the last round of debates between Donald Trump and Joe Biden took place, compared to the previous time, everything passed more or less with dignity.
They cursed less and did not speak nicknames. Such a result of the second debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, hardly anyone could believe it. Especially after the extravagance with mutual insults, which both starred in the first meeting.
The debates on October 22 took place in the traditional format: an hour and a half were divided into six thematic segments of 15 minutes each. The debate was held at Belmont University in Nashville and was hosted by NBC reporter Kristen Welker.
Correspondent.net discovered how the most recent debate will affect the electoral race in the United States.
Mute microphone
The candidates did not swear in, mainly because the silence function was used for the first time in the new round of debates. This option was provided after the first meeting between Trump and Biden, during which they were constantly interrupted. Now host Kristen Welker could turn off one candidate’s microphone, interfering with the other’s performance.
And it really turned out to be useful: While this button wasn’t used often, it was an effective deterrent to both Trump and Biden, who, realizing they could be turned off, were much less interrupted.
Ukraine and Russia
The debates of the American presidents failed to mention the mention of Ukraine.
“When he (Biden) sold pillows and blankets to Ukraine, I sold them anti-tank weapons,” Trump said.
He added that he convinced NATO countries to increase defense spending to strengthen security due to the Russian threat.
Furthermore, according to the president, letters were allegedly found on the computer of Biden’s son, who worked for the Ukrainian company Burisma during Joe Biden’s presidency, showing him in an unappealing light.
The Democratic candidate replied that he had not received a penny from Ukraine.
As for Russia, Trump said Biden received $ 3.5 million from the Kremlin because he was on good terms with the Moscow mayor’s wife.
Biden responded by saying that Trump’s friend Rudy Giuliani is Putin’s puppet, and Moscow pays Trump a lot, like Beijing.
Other themes
The candidates also discussed the coronavirus issue. Trump said that in the coming weeks the epidemic in the United States will diminish and that a vaccine will be ready. Biden blamed the president for the country’s high death rate, claiming that simply wearing masks could save 100,000 American lives. Trump, by the way, came to the debate without a mask.
Analysts noted that the debate was at a good level, in contrast to the past, which many called the worst in history. Viewers named Biden the winner of the debate. According to CNN’s quick poll, 53% believe Biden was better at the last event, compared to 39% who liked Trump the most. At the same time, nearly three-quarters (73%) believed Biden’s criticism of the president to be true, while only 50% of those who watched the debate believed in the validity of Trump’s accusations against his rival.
Is everything decided?
Polls show that most Americans have already decided, and more than 45 million have even voted by mail.

Vice President Pance has already voted
So the chance that the latest debate will have a significant impact on the presidential race is slim.
