A new wave of coronavirus can start in the fall.

Hans Kluge, Director of the European Office of the World Health Organization, urged Europe to prepare for a new wave of coronavirus. RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to The Independent.

Therefore, in an interview with the British publication, Kluge said that European countries must prepare for a new wave of coronavirus and be careful when lifting restrictive measures.

“I am very concerned about the double wave: in the fall we could have a second wave of the COVID-19 disease and another: seasonal flu and measles,” he stressed.

Recall earlier, the head of the WHO emergency health program, Mike Ryan, suggested that the coronavirus could become another endemic virus and will remain forever among people. However, the world can control the spread of the coronavirus with a vaccine.

Furthermore, WHO Director-General Tedros Adan Gebreisus said the world has been fighting a serious pandemic for 100 years. According to the WHO Director-General, the coronavirus threatens recent health improvements and progress towards global goals.

We add that as of May 14 in the world there were more than 300 thousand deaths with coronavirus. The highest number of deaths occurred in the United States, where more than 85,000 infected died.
