The Security Service of Ukraine suspects that representatives of the Ukrainian public organization Election of the pro-Russian deputy Viktor Medvedchuk attended the referendum and illegal elections of 2014 in Crimea.

According to the research, the participants in the election of Ukraine during the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol and in the future actively supported the occupation authorities.
«They became representatives of illegal electoral commissions and precincts, participated in the activities of the illegal armed formation “Self-Defense of Crimea”. Members of the NFP carried out illegal persecution of Ukrainian activists, seizure of administrative buildings of the Ukrainian authorities, ”said the secret service.
According to the SBU, the Ukrainian election leadership mimicked the liquidation of 210 Crimean cells and continued anti-Ukrainian activities in the Crimea temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.
As established by research, Ministry of Justice From Ukraine received documents about the termination of the activities of the cells of the Ukrainian election in Crimea only in 2017. According to the investigation, this was done to give the impression that the leadership of the organization was not involved in the illegal activities of their representatives in Crimea.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted under art. 366 (counterfeiting of services) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of informing participants about suspicions under art. 110 (invasion of the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) and art. 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

International organizations recognized the occupation of Crimea as illegal and condemned Russia’s actions.
