SBU blocked the financing of the “DPR” by supplying pharmaceutical products

SBU has revealed the financing scheme of “DPR” by supplying medicines. This year, the defendants supplied medicines worth almost UAH 40 million.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine blocked the financial receipts of the terrorist organization “DPR” through the largest illegal deliveries of pharmaceutical products to the temporarily occupied territories, reports the press service SBU.

The employees and investigators of the special services documented that “officials” and associated merchants of the “RPD” requested supplies. The organizers registered shell companies in Ukraine and neighboring states. Bogus foreign economic contracts were concluded between the companies, according to which pharmaceutical products were allegedly shipped to third countries.However, from the territory of the Russian Federation, the drugs were transported to Donetsk merchants through temporarily uncontrolled border points by the Ukrainian authorities, “the police agency said.

The SBU learned that this year alone, under this scheme, the defendants supplied drugs worth almost 40 million hryvnia.

In the Chernihiv region, at the Senkovka checkpoint, security forces detained a driver with a truck and cargo. The vehicle was carrying pharmaceutical products worth nearly three million hryvnia.

In addition, law enforcement officers searched Kharkov and Nikolaev at the addresses of fictitious companies, seizing computer equipment, documents and stamps confirming illegal activities.

For the time being, the issue of announcing suspicions of persons involved in the commission of a crime under Part 3 of art. 258-5 (financing of large-scale terrorism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The suspects face 10 to 12 years in prison.

As previously reported, in 2020 they tried to export military items worth 1.48 billion UAH from Ukraine.

We add that during the year the SBU detained 11 Russian special services agents. Likewise, 288 criminal proceedings were initiated for crimes against the foundations of national and public security.
