Lyashko spoke about the subway
Ukraine’s chief medical doctor noted that the decision to open the subway will depend entirely on the epidemiological situation in the country.
The metro in Ukraine will open when the coronavirus epidemic finally subsides, Deputy Minister of Health and head of state health services Viktor Lyashko said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to Lyashko, the opening of the Ukrainian subways is planned in the fourth stage of the weakening of the quarantine in Ukraine.
“We plan to open the subway in the fourth stage, when for 10 consecutive days the amount there will be less than 5 new unrelated cases per area. As we are talking about the metro, these are the cities of Kiev, Kharkov and the Dnieper, “said Lyashko.
The chief doctor said that the decision to open the metro will depend entirely on the epidemic situation in the country.
“If we talk about 5 unrelated cases, then it is clear that in this case the epidemic will finally diminish. We will see how it turns out if we cannot open the subway for so long from an economic point of view. Again, this will be a matter of discussion and follow-up of the number of cases, the willingness of the health system to accept them, “he added.
We will remember, earlier, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said that the metro in Ukraine will not open until May 22. The head of government noted that the early launch of public transport threatens the spread of the coronavirus.
