Four more countries have joined the European sanctions against Russia for aggression against Ukraine. The personal sanctions against 41 people and 28 organizations will be in effect until March 15, 2021.

This was reported by the press service of the Council of Europe.

Today, the candidate countries for accession to the European Union, Montenegro and Albania, have joined the sanctions against Russia. In addition, Liechtenstein and Norway supported sanctions against the Russian Federation.

“They will ensure that their national policies are in line with this Council of Europe decision. The European Union takes this commitment into account and welcomes it,” the Council of Europe said in a statement.

As a reminder, the European Union extended sanctions against Russia for aggression against Ukraine in early September 2020. The sanctions were extended for six months.

In addition, in October, the EU agreed to impose a sanction against Russia for rail links with occupied Crimea.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, Cyprus blocked the imposition of sanctions against Russia for rail communications with occupied Crimea.
