The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine explained the sanctions imposed on the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, Viktor Medvedchuk. The position of the department on the air of the TV channel “Ukraine” was announced by the secretary of the department Alexey Danilov, reports TASS.
According to him, Viktor Medvedchuk, together with his wife, owns an oil refinery in Russia, which supplies fuel and lubricants to non-Kiev controlled territories in the Donbass. Danilov said the plant is located 14 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
It was previously reported that the NSDC imposed sanctions against the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, Viktor Medvedchuk and his wife, television presenter Oksana Marchenko. The secretary of the department, Oleksiy Danilov, said that these measures were taken due to the investigation of the Security Service of Ukraine into the financing of terrorism. Likewise, sanctions were imposed on the television channels “112 Ukraine”, ZIK and NewsOne, owned by the MP of the Taras Kozak Life Opportunity Program. The PLOJ later called the sanctions “a planned act of political repression.”
