The European Parliament voted in favor of a resolution calling for the allocation of money to the Belarusian authorities to be halted until new elections are held. It also demands a full and independent investigation into the death of protester Roman Bondarenko.

613 deputies voted in favor of the document, 41 against, the resolution has an advisory character.
In it, MEPs call on the European Union to freeze the allocation of funds for the Belarusian authorities, including loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.
It was previously reported that the European Union has started work on new sanctions against Belarus. This will be the third list of sanctions.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine wrote that the European Union accelerated the preparation of new sanctions against Belarus after a protester Roman Bondarenko was killed in Minsk by a beating.
At the same time, one of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, intends to visit Ukraine “in the near future”. The visit will be friendly.
