Wednesday October 7 in the Ryazan region (Russia) on the territory of the artillery ammunition storage warehouse near the Zheltukhino point powerful explosions thundered… As a result of the emergency, more than 2.3 thousand people were evacuated from 14 villages.
From the village of Zheltukhino, next to which a military warehouse was burning, 150 children were first taken away. The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Evgeny Zinichev flew to the scene of the emergency. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry, as well as eyewitnesses on various Telegram channels. It is observed that the shock wave even reached the city of Ryazhsk. According to Governor Nikolai Lyubimov, there were no deaths as a result of the incident, however three people were injured… The local authorities clarified that the condition of two is evaluated as severe and moderate.
According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire damaged 17 buildings in various settlements… Five temporary points were prepared for the evacuees, 139 people have already been accommodated in two.
At the scene of the emergency there were supposedly evacuation announced within a radius of 50 kmwrites Readovka. In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry was quick to ensure that the explosions at the Ryazan ammunition depot did not threaten neighboring settlements, and that people from the depot where the emergency occurred had already been evacuated.
189 military personnel and 38 teams, including four Il-76 aircraft and three Mi-8 helicopters, participated in the liquidation of the fire and the explosions.
Car traffic on the Caspian Highway was blocked due to a fire and explosions at a military warehouse in the Ryazan region, the department added.
The preliminary version of the cause of the explosions was called transfer of fire to the ammunition depot from the burning grass.
In turn, the inhabitants of Zheltukhino village said that after the explosions in the military warehouses, their five-story house “was the first to emerge.”
According to one of the evacuated women, when they left the entrance to their house, everything was covered in glass.
“Our five-story building was the first. When we came out of the entrance, everything was covered in glass. People were walking around in blood. When we left, the fragments flew on the hood of the car. It was very scary, we literally ran out, not like if someone had evacuated us. ” – she said.
The network also posted a video and photo showing that along the Caspian Highway, grass was burning and smoke was everywhere.
