The towing was completed at 5.40, the vessel was delivered to the anchorage, said the agency source in Rosmorrechflot. A source from Russia’s Krasnodar Territory emergency services told TASS that the explosion in the tanker left a hole up to 12 meters in diameter. There was no oil spill, he said.

The search continues for three crew members: a sailor, a boatswain, and an apprentice. The helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will be connected to their search, writes the agency.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case for violation of fire safety requirements after this incident under Part 3 of art. 219 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of fire safety requirements committed by a person who had an obligation to comply with them, if this resulted in the death of two or more people through negligence).

The explosion of the General Azi Aslanov tanker, which sails under the Russian flag, took place on October 24. During the explosion, the tanker was in the Sea of ​​Azov, near the Kerch Strait.
