Russian fighters intercepted three US B-52 bombers over the Black Sea

On September 14, the radar reconnaissance team of the Southern Military District air defense forces revealed three air targets over the Black Sea. It turned out to be US Air Force bombers approaching the Russian border from Ukraine.

This was reported by the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation.

To identify the air targets, two Su-27 fighters and two Su-30 fighters from the air defense forces of the Southern Military District were raised into the air. Russian fighter crews identified the targets as three US Air Force B-52H strategic bombers and escorted them over the Black Sea.

After removing the American planes from the border, the Russian fighters returned to their home airfields.

All combat flights were carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. The Americans did not violate the border.

Earlier, Strana quoted the Russian military as saying that US strategic bombers have been conducting attacks on Russian territory since August during such training flights.
