Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Sputnik V” has no chance of obtaining permission in Ukraine. The third phase of its tests is far from over.
Chief Medical Officer Viktor Lyashko wrote about this on Facebook.
He reiterated that the vaccines will be allowed in Ukraine, which has received approval in countries with strict regulatory policies, and also stressed that the third testing phase of the Russian sample will be completed only in December this year.
“Ukraine has decided on the possibility of registration of vaccines registered in countries with a strict regulatory policy. I emphasize that only under these conditions will we allow the use of vaccines. According to the information published on the website Clinicaltrials.gov, the completion of the third phase of clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine December 2021, “wrote Lyashko.
We will recall, earlier the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the HLS Viktor Medvedchuk said that in Ukraine the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “Sputnik V” was submitted for registration. According to him, the Kharkov company “Biolek” presented itself to the Ministry of Health and the Center of State Experts with a statement on December 30.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, on December 8, the director of Russia’s Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, announced that Sputnik production could be installed at the Biolek facilities. However, the pharmaceutical company later denied the signing of the relevant contracts and receipt of transfer technologies for the production of the Sputnik V vaccine.
