At a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna, Yevgeny Tsymbalyuk, asked Russia to provide explanations on the interruption of the opening of new checkpoints in Donbas. The opening of the “Happiness” and “Golden” checkpoints is an agreement of the “Normandy Four”.

According to the Permanent Representative of Ukraine, recent negotiations to unblock the work of the checkpoint were not constructive.
“We call on the Russian delegation to provide detailed explanations about its position at the Schastye and Zolotoe checkpoints. Discussions on this issue, which took place in the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group and its working groups on the days November 10 and 11 cannot be described as constructive, “he emphasized. Tsymbalyuk.
A Ukrainian representative told the OSCE that Ukraine opened two additional checkpoints in Donbass on November 10 and resumed crossing the contact line at Stanytsia Luhanska, which was detained due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Neither Happiness nor Zolotoe were reopened by the Russian occupation administration. Civilians who tried to cross the line of contact were rejected by members of the Russian armed formations,” he added.
As a reminder, the OSCE representatives in the TCG called on Russia to resume work on the checkpoint in Donbas before the end of the week.
