The Russian government has expanded the list of people against whom special economic measures are being introduced: the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, and the former people’s deputy, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, have joined.

The corresponding government decree was published on the official legal information portal of the Russian Federation.

The list of people against whom the sanctions are imposed also includes other Ukrainian politicians and officials:

  • Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, former Popular MP for the Golos party and leader of the Okean Elzy group;
  • Voice deputies Sergei Rakhmanin, Kira Rudyk, Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Solomiya Bobrovskaya;
  • non-fractional MP Victoria Grib;
  • Eurosolidarity People’s Deputy and member of the Crimean Tatar People’s Mejlis, Akhtem Chiygoz and his faction colleagues Sofia Fedyna and Yana Zinkevich;
  • Batkivshchyna MPs Mikhail Volynets, Valentin Nalyvaichenko and Sergey Taruta;
  • former Eurosolidarity MP and wife of former Attorney General Irina Lutsenko;
  • Olga Stefanishina, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
  • former Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv.

Regarding the politicians on the list (there are 41 surnames in total) will apply the blockade of non-monetary funds, book-entry titles and property in Russia and will prohibit the withdrawal of capital from the country.
