Russia bans entry to European officials
In response to the actions of the EU, Moscow decided to expand the list of officials who are prohibited from entering.
Russia has decided to expand the list of sanctions for EU officials, who are prohibited from entering the country. This decision was made in response to a similar expansion in the EU, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday, September 23.
“Recently, the European Union has observed a series of hostile steps towards our country and the Russian citizens. Acting, as before, bypassing existing international standards, the EU continues to expand its sanctions instruments and apply them under implausible and sometimes absurd pretexts. The Russian part of the European Union has taken the decision to expand the reciprocal list of representatives of member states and EU institutions, which are prohibited from entering the territory of the Russian Federation. The number of people involved in the Russian list has been matched with the existing European Union list, “the statement said.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry does not mention the names of the officials who have been subject to sanctions.
Recall that the EU extended the personal sanctions against Russia for six months. At the same time, it was reported that in the near future 15 more people and various organizations will be added to the sanction list for the construction of the Kerch Bridge.
