The Foreign Ministry pointed out that during six years of occupation, human rights activists have registered more than 300 violations of the rights of journalists and bloggers on the peninsula.
“Of the 3,000 media that officially operated on the peninsula until 2014, only 232 were able to re-register at the request of the occupants. Some media attempted to register more than three times, but for formal reasons were rejected … Russia it really deprived the population of the opportunity to listen to an alternative opinion, blocking the signals of Ukrainian radio stations and access to online publications, “Ukrainian diplomats explained.
They emphasized that “the Russian propaganda media not only captured the Crimean information space, but also spread the language of bigotry, creating an image of the enemy of the Ukrainians and the Crimean Tatars.”
