The deputy head of the Kremlin administration, Dmitry Kozak, sent letters to the representatives of France, Germany and Ukraine with a document on the negotiations in the “Normandy format”.

According to TASS, citing a source in the Russian delegation, the official suggested that the Normandy Four members change the principle of organizing their meetings.

It is noted that Kozak proposed to the Normandy Four to set Ukraine’s obligation to give a written position on the implementation of Minsk-2.

RIA Novosti added that the letter reflects the draft Joint Results of the videoconference of political advisers and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the “Normandy format”.

“Taking into account the equality of all participants in the Normandy format, it would be advisable to use the principle of rotation of presidents, which is widely used in international diplomatic practice, in the organization of negotiations, so that this function is performed alternately for each of the four participants, “says the document.

As a reminder, an online meeting of political advisers to the leaders of the four Normandy states on the war in Donbass took place on 18 March, in which the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, participated.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said that it would soon be possible to talk about the exact dates of the meeting in the Normandy format.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian delegation of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass, Leonid Kravchuk, said that the participation of the United States in the Normandy format should strengthen the negotiations, because Russia will have as strong a side as the United States.

He also noted that the summit in the “Normandy format” to resolve the situation in Donbass is scheduled for April.
