Russian armored vehicles on the way to Karabakh
The military convoys will have to travel more than 250 kilometers and deploy a peacekeeping contingent with observation posts along the line of contact.
The Russian blue helmets, which arrived in Armenia, moved to the area where they would carry out tasks to control the ceasefire and military operations in the Nagorno-Karabakh area. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday, November 11.
“The military columns will have to travel more than 250 kilometers and deploy a peacekeeping contingent with the deployment of Russian observation posts along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor,” said the release.
In total, more than 400 Russian peacekeepers from 15 peacekeeping brigades separated into 20 Il-76 aircraft have already arrived in the conflict zone.
The military department recalled that a total of 1,960 military personnel, 90 armored personnel carriers, 380 automobile units and special equipment will be deployed to deploy the peacekeeping contingent. The command of the peacekeeping operation will be located in the Stepanakert area.
Recall, on November 9, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, signed a joint declaration on the total cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Azerbaijani and Armenian sides will remain in their positions and Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region.
