The Russian government has allocated 5.82 billion rubles (almost $ 76 million) to provide water to annexed Crimea, because the peninsula continues to suffer from water shortages.
This was reported by the press service of the Russian government.
It is indicated that a water intake on the Belbek river should be built for 4.95 billion rubles, as well as an infrastructure to transfer water from the Kadykovsky quarry should be created. Construction will be carried out by the Russian Defense Ministry.
In addition, the Russian government will allocate another 870 million rubles for the revision of water pipes, the replacement of obsolete equipment and the creation of new wells.
The Cabinet of Ministers says the funds will be provided on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which should “improve the situation with the water supply on the peninsula.”
