Rukh 0: 0. And they don’t even win the majority ᐉ UA-Football

Each new season of Alexandria is always similar to the previous one. The “Citizens” show approximately the same level, and depending on the form and problems of the competitors, occupy places in the table from third to sixth. In other words, he is a medium strong peasant who once even managed to feel a pleasant heaviness on his neck when he received bronze medals. In this championship, a certain failure began: the team looked worse than usual, old developments ceased to bear fruit, and the form of the leaders (Kovalets, Dubra, Grechishkin) disappointed. But the latest results clearly indicate that we were in a hurry to cancel Vladimir Sharan. An experienced mentor has brought his players back to life, and they are ready to fight for a place in the top three.

Rukh’s situation is different: his growth is not so remarkable yet. Yes, a week ago, Lviv played well against Mariupol, who lost two key players and a coach due to COVID-19, but failed to win, once again playing a draw. Like other PFL rookie “Ingults,” Fedyk’s team learned to play defense, but as soon as they need to prove themselves on offense, the enthusiasm immediately wears off.

There is no point talking about the events of the first half, because the statistics speak for themselves: two shots on goal in 45 minutes and both are made by today’s hosts. “Alexandria” really did look a bit better, but the 0: 0 score perfectly described what was happening. Only one episode deserves a separate mention: a minute before the whistle for the break, Tretyakov hit the goal from the right edge of the penalty area, Bandura managed to face him. Luchkevich tried to make the finishing move, but Gagun stopped him. At first it seemed that the right-back, whose asset had already been ejected before, caught Valery’s head, and the screams from the universal winger only confirmed this fact. Anatoly Adbula did not indicate the 11-meter mark, giving the green light for a corner. The VAR did not work in the match, but the hosts’ own fans decided to review this episode. Judging by his reaction, the referee made the correct decision.

The second half started with a slight advantage from the ‘neighbors’, and knowing how successful they are in their native walls, there was little doubt that they would definitely find their goal. But our expectations were still our problems, as Bondarenko had his own plans. The center-back looked good after returning from Portugal (remember that the player’s contract is from Shakhtar), but today he showed himself from a negative side. Perhaps you were impressed by Arturo Vidal’s performance in the recent match against Inter, and this was the reason why he committed an unjustified foul twice in two minutes, having won two yellow cards. Valery went into halftime ahead of schedule, while “Rukh” in general, and Grigory Kozlovsky in particular, had a ray of hope for victory. Debut for me at UPL.

Having gained a numerical advantage, Fedyk’s team did not play much better in attack. “Alexandria” has always been good at keeping up the defense, and after eliminating Bondarenko with all her might, she withdrew, not very often rushing to counterattacks. The young Kukharevich, who is talked about a lot and who has already scored three goals for the youth team, did not help “Rukh”. At UPL, things are not going so well for him, and today the forward missed an excellent moment, which can be called the best for two teams: Nikolai had a date with Pankiv at an angle, but the experienced goalkeeper won this duel.

Let’s summarize. Having played about 60 minutes in equal compositions, the teams were able to create a moment for two, which speaks best of all about the quality of football. There were many flaws and inaccurate transmissions in the actions of the players. So much so that at times it seemed like they had been training with a square ball all week before the game, and today they suddenly saw a sphere in front of them. Rukh’s mentor will again be dissatisfied with a draw, given that his team had the one-player advantage, but frankly, the Lvivians scored no more than zero goals today. Will we let them get used to the UPL or is three months enough?
