Specialized doctors said whether it is necessary to return to strict quarantine in Ukraine. The consequences of a strict quarantine should not exceed the consequences of illness.
This is stated in the RBC-Ukraine material “Back under lock and key. Do Ukrainians face severe quarantine?”
Infectious disease doctor Fyodor Lapiy says that on the one hand, if an infection is spread by airborne droplets, to stop it, you must stop any person-to-person contact, which was stipulated by strict quarantine.
“But the consequences of a strict quarantine should not exceed the consequences of the disease, because the economy needs to live,” he said in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
The doctor considers it correct to introduce a strict quarantine this spring. However, he added that at this time, adaptive quarantine is the optimal approach, although this model needs to be adjusted.
The epidemiologist and head of the National Group of Experts on Infection Control, Andrei Alexandrin, told the publication that now there is a more important topic: preparing for the fall-winter season and introducing safety programs against infections.
“In the last eight months, the state has not prepared in any way, the preparation for the season of acute respiratory diseases has failed, the socially critical facilities have not worked: kindergartens, schools, hospitals, etc., although we have developed appropriate programs, ”he said.
We will remember, the WHO explained how to curb the spread of the coronavirus in Ukraine.
Please note that the Ministry of Health is in favor of strengthening quarantine restrictions.
