A characteristic of this electoral campaign was the enormous popularity of regional parties and mayors. Most of the current city’s goals have been won in the first round.

This is stated in the RBK-Ukraine material “Elections without a winner: who took power in the regions of Ukraine”.

Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv, who came from “Freedom”, won 85% of the votes in the first round. The same political force won the leadership in the elections to the Ivano-Frankivsk regional and municipal councils.

The current head of Ternopil, Serhiy Nadal, who also came from Svoboda, won almost 75%, with the party itself taking first place in the town hall.

In Khmelnitsky, Alexander Simchishin received 87% of the support of the townspeople in the first round. The mayor’s party “Team Simchishin” took the initiative in the City Hall.

The situation is the same in Kharkiv, where the party of the winner of the mayor Gennady Kernes’ race “Block of Kernes – Successful Kharkiv” won first place in elections both in the city and in the regional councils. Leadership in Chernigov city and regional council was won by Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko’s “Native House” party, which won 77.5% in the first round.

In Vinnitsa, “Groisman’s Ukrainian strategy” won the elections to the town hall and regional council. His candidate Sergei Morgunov won in the first round. And in the case of Vinnitsa, most likely, the popularity of the leader of the political force in this region overlapped the effect of the qualification of mayor.

Let us remember in which cities the second electoral round will take place, according to the RBC-Ukraine material.
