The court released one of the defendants
The victim’s representatives do not understand the reasons for such a decision and hope to appeal against her.
One of the defendants in the Kagarlyk torture case, former police officer Yaroslav Levandyuk, was released. The corresponding decision was made by the Goloseevsky District Court of Kiev, reports on Tuesday, October 26, Hromadske with reference to the victim’s lawyer Zlata Symonenko.
According to her, the prosecution requested that the suspect remain in custody, but the court released Levandyuk under 24-hour house arrest.
Now only the operative part of the decision remains, that is, the motivation of the court is still unknown. The full text of the decision will be on November 2.
Symonenko noted that the victim’s representatives hoped to appeal this decision.
“For the release of a person suspected of a particularly serious crime, there must be reasonable grounds. It is unclear what exactly has changed since the choice of a preventive measure and why the judge’s opinion has changed,” Symonenko said, adding that is awaiting the full text of the decision. …
Let us remind you that the Kagarlyk police in his office raped a girl several times who was summoned to the police station as a witness.
