Various restrictions will be introduced until Ukraine is vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The quarantine in Ukraine will continue until the population is vaccinated. This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov.
When asked if the weekend quarantine could be extended beyond November 30, he replied: “Yes. And we have to see how these three weeks go.”
The minister recalled that in the spring, restrictions were also initially introduced for several weeks.
“In fact, a lot will depend on how we adhere to this quarantine. In general, quarantine is a matter of mass vaccination, when we can completely unlock all areas of our life … Most likely we will have vaccinations until the second half the year. ” next year there will be no marketable quantities, even what we see on the certificates from Pfizer, AstraZeneca, they say they will only now certify. This is a fairly long period of time, “he said, adding that the quarantine will be so long. How many do you need.
Nemchinov also explained why Ukraine cannot carry out universal tests, as was done in Slovakia.
“Are we really prepared to analyze 40 million of the population? To draw blood, detect the presence or absence of antibodies and prescribe it correctly? How many specialists are needed for this? How many doctors need to be distracted from their direct duties?”
He also added that the government has allocated an additional 1 billion hryvnia for the purchase of express tests.
Note that today the Verkhovna Rada will consider a decree on the abolition of quarantine for the weekend. If the deputies support it, then the Cabinet of Ministers can introduce a general blockade, said Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in the Rada.
