Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said whether it is possible in Ukraine to introduce a curfew and a complete stop of transport as part of the tightening of quarantine.
He said this on the air of the television channel Ukraine 24.
«Power simply acts wisely. Presenting and saying that tomorrow we will have a hard blockade is not difficult. But we must find a balance. We still have the state of the economy and we must weigh and find a balance in terms of protection and work for ordinary people. We understand that introducing a hard lockdown for weeks and months means putting people out of work, ”Stepanov said.
According to him, a measure such as stopping transportation throughout the country has not yet been considered, and for a curfew it is necessary to introduce a state of emergency in Ukraine.
«The curfew is defined by law. To impose a curfew, a state of emergency must be introduced. For this, a decision of the Security and National Defense Council, a presidential decree and a vote in the Rada, “said Stepanov.
Earlier, the publication Ukrainska Pravda reported that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to significantly tighten the quarantine in Ukraine starting next week.
According to RBC-Ukraine, we can talk about a weekend quarantine.
