If the situation with the spread of the coronavirus in Ukraine worsens, further restrictions may be introduced before January 8. The government may choose a new date to strengthen the quarantine and warn about it 7 days before the introduction.

Mikhail Radutsky, head of the nation’s parliamentary committee for health, healthcare and health insurance, said this on the air of the Right to Power program.

According to the People’s Deputy, forecasts indicate that in December Ukraine will pass with indicators within 16 thousand cases of coronavirus per day.

“Nobody says that this (quarantine strengthening – ed.) Will be on January 8th. If the situation worsens, the government can give notice of other dates 7 days in advance … No one will wait for January 8th. January will be that The New Year will increase (morbidity – ed.), We will not go anywhere on this “, – said Radutsky.

Recall that at yesterday’s meeting, the government decided to extend the quarantine until the end of winter, with greater restrictions from January 8 to 24.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the Health Ministry hopes that an improved quarantine in January will help reduce the incidence of the coronavirus by 50%.

In addition, the head of government Denis Shmygal said that between 20 and 25 thousand cases of COVID-19 per day are forecast in Ukraine in early January.
