The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to extend the quarantine in Ukraine until the end of December. The quarantine restrictions will be in effect until December 31.

The corresponding decision was made by the government at today’s meeting.

At the meeting, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that the quarantine in Ukraine was extended due to the increase in new cases of coronavirus. In addition, they decided to strengthen the quarantine.

“It is proposed to ban public events in the” green zone ” with the participation of more than 50 people… Also introduce everyone’s celebration sporting events without spectators“, – said Stepanov.

Also included changes from criteria for quarantine zones… In particular, we have doubled the test coverage rate of 48 per 100,000 inhabitants during the last 7 days.

Further, change the rules for the allowed number of people in mass meetings.

In the “green zone” it is proposed to allow mass events in total no more than 50 people, subject to the social distance of 1.5 meters and the mask regime.

In the “yellow” – no more than 30 people.

In “orange” – no more than 20.

Sports competitions are allowed without spectators, except international competitions, in which they can be held with spectators by separate agreement of the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the government made a decision Ban the work of food points from 22:00 to 7:00 (in the “green”, “yellow” and “orange” areas).

The cabinet recommends transferring universities to distance education from October 15 until November 15. It is also recommended to introduce the school holidays from October 15.

Today at a government meeting a decision was made change the criteria for including regions in the quarantine “red zone”… The region will go into the “red zone” if the incidence rate for 14 days is higher than 320 per 100,000 inhabitants.

“Before that, the indicator was dynamic, five times higher than the corresponding national average,” Stepanov told the meeting.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated almost 3 million hryvnia from the fund to combat the coronavirus to the Ministry of Health to implement measures aimed at locating outbreaks of the disease, namely:

  • 1,068,084 hryvnia – to ensure the readiness and response of the laboratory centers included in the sphere of management of the Ministry of Health, the state institutions “Center for Public Health” and the Ukrainian Mechnikov Plague Research Institute,
  • 1875 149 hryvnia – for the purchase of personal protective equipment for health institutions providing inpatient medical care,
  • 46,811 UAH – for the purchase of the drug remdesevir (remdesivir).

Recall, the Ministry of Health proposed to extend the quarantine until December 31. The reason for this is the increase in coronavirus cases.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is preparing for a new wave of COVID-19. The president has already given a series of instructions, in particular on the transfer of universities to distance education.

The Ministry of Education also recommended introducing school holidays from October 15.

In particular, the Kiev authorities will not recommend schools to start their holidays on October 15.

We will recall, Ukrainian scientists predict that in the near future the daily increase of coronavirus patients in Ukraine may reach 7800 cases.

In five regions of Ukraine and Kiev, hospital beds are more than 70% full.
