Regional authorities decided to tighten the quarantine by introducing new restrictive measures for residents.

In the Chernivtsi region, due to the spread of the coronavirus, additional restrictive measures will be introduced next weekend, recommending that all residents not leave their homes.

The head of the Chernivtsi regional state administration Serhiy Osachuk reported this on Facebook live.

He noted that such a decision was made Thursday at a meeting of the Regional Commission for Security and Technological and Environmental Emergencies. It establishes that a special restrictive regime will be in effect from 1 pm on April 11 until 6 am on April 13.

“Unlike previous weekends, for which I would like to thank you again for listening and staying home, there will be no stores open on Saturdays and Sundays after 1 pm. Grocery stores will not work either. For medical services, services rescue and the National Police, “Osachuk said.

The official explained that these restrictive measures are aimed at ensuring that residents “do not feel tempted, do not look for roads and have an excuse to leave home on Saturday or Sunday.”

As previously reported by UNIAN, on Thursday in the Chernivtsi region, doctors received laboratory confirmation of another 76 cases of coronavirus. Therefore, in the region, the total number of registered cases is 379.
