The European Union will close passenger traffic with the United Kingdom due to cases of infection by a mutated coronavirus on the island. This decision should be approved next week.
This is reported by the German edition of Bild.
The EU is going to ban passenger traffic by air, by train and also to close the entrance to the British through the Channel Tunnel. Details of the country’s restrictions will be agreed early next week.
It is known that on Monday morning, representatives of the EU member states will discuss joint measures to respond to the emergence and spread of a new type of coronavirus, the outbreak of which is likely in the United Kingdom.
Remember that today several European countries have already decided to ban air traffic with Great Britain for various periods. Among them are Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland and Belgium.
Israel also decided not to allow foreigners arriving from Great Britain, Denmark and South Africa to enter the country. Cases of infection with a mutated coronavirus were found in these countries.
We will recall, as of today in London and in two counties in the southeast of England, Essex and Kent, there is a fourth level of quarantine.
The restrictions imposed in the regions of Great Britain are related to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19, as well as a new type of coronavirus that is spreading more rapidly.
It is spreading 70% faster and it is not yet known how the Pfizer vaccine, which is already being vaccinated in Britain and several other countries around the world, copes with it.
