Quarantine in Europe: how measures are being tightened in Germany, France and Russia

[ad_1]

By October 15, the number of people infected by coronavirus in the world exceeded 38 million people. Many European countries have already announced the introduction of new quarantine measures. At the same time, they are not yet switching to a regime as harsh as that of the spring, so as not to expose the economy to damage.

We collect information on how Europe is tightening measures due to the coronavirus, from curfews to closing stores at night.

France

France will impose a curfew on October 17. It will operate from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. in Paris and in major cities such as Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Lille, Grenoble, Montpellier, Rouen and Saint-Etienne. In total, the restrictions will affect some 20 million French people.

The special regime establishes that after nine o’clock at night in these cities any economic activity (cafes, shops, etc.) and the movement of citizens will stop without a confirmed valid reason. The offense is punishable by a fine of 135 euros or 1,500 euros in the case of repeated infringement.

While the curfew is in place for four weeks, French President Emmanuel Macron has already announced that the government will present a bill to extend the new restrictions until December 1.

Germany

In Germany, due to increased morbidity, the work of the cafes will be limited and the mask regime will be tougher. In some regions, bars, restaurants and other catering establishments will be limited to 23:00. Private parties will limit the number of people to 10 people. These restrictions will be valid until October 31.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said the country’s economy cannot afford to introduce the same tough measures as in the spring.

At the same time, the authorities did not agree on some issues, for example, on the movement of people from the “red zone” regions within the country. This question was postponed until November 8.

Russia

In Russia, despite the increase in morbidity rates, shops and catering establishments will not close yet. They can work if they meet all the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor. At the same time, if the situation worsens, changes can be made to the restoration work.

A registration system will be introduced in bars and discos in Moscow. Beginning October 19, to reach entertainment venues that operate from 00:00 to 06:00, you will need to register a phone number. If some of the visitors are later found to have a coronavirus, then everyone who was with him at the institution will be able to report and offer to take the test immediately.

Nightclubs are not closed, but visitors will be added to the database

Britain

The British authorities are preparing to introduce new restrictive measures. On the night of October 17, London will introduce a second level (“high”) threat from the spread of the virus. After that, residents of the region are advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary, people who do not live under the same roof will be prohibited from meeting in closed rooms. Restaurants, bars, pubs, gyms, hairdressers, schools will continue to operate.

Manchester and Preston can enter a third level of threat (“very high”). This means the closure of bars, pubs, gyms, the prohibition of contacts between people who do not live under the same roof.

Portugal

In Portugal, a state of emergency is established for 15 days. This regime allows the authorities to restrict the movement of citizens and public life.

Netherlands

In the Netherlands, quarantine restrictions have been tightened since October 14. Food establishments must close after 10:00 p.m., except for those located in hotels and airports. Only take out orders are allowed.

Finland

In Finland, in some regions it is recommended to ban mass events or limit the number of participants to 10 people. I recommend employers transfer employees to remote work.
