Ukraine’s first racket Elina Svitolina (No. 5 WTA) continued her winning streak in the main draw at the Australian Open.

The start of the game could not be worse. Svitolina completely missed the opening game, committing five unforced errors in a row. Putintseva after such a gift defended her service and took the lead. At first, Svitolina tried to push her opponent as far as possible, taking advantage of the space for a later attack, but Putintseva resisted such tactics very well. For a long time Elina was unable to actively win balls, but then she changed her tactic and that helped. The Ukrainian engaged in a shootout with baseline punches and made attacks only after verified combinations. After that, Julia was able to maintain a high level only for a few games, she tried to attack herself, she often made mistakes, and of course he annoyed her.
When the score was 5: 4, Svitolina won a triple set point in the reception, Putintseva cursed loudly, but still won, the small outs helped. But then a double mistake upside down followed.
The second set was much more enjoyable for the Ukrainian fans, although all games, except the first and the final, were won in the fight. It was clear that Svitolina was a higher cut today, and Putintseva had lost confidence due to a lot of her mistakes. Julia again and again gave free rein to her emotions, but hardly anyone was surprised.
So far, Svitolina hasn’t lost a single set in the tournament, which adds confidence that she can advance further on the grid, which, by the way, is pretty good.
