Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia could crack down on foreign internet platforms. But this is possible in case of your hostile actions and in the presence of domestic alternatives.
He announced it during a meeting with the chief editors of the Russian media.
In particular, the president of the Russian Federation said that he had no desire to “screw and tighten” something artificially.
“But when some hostile actions are already taking place, I do not exclude it. Hostile actions against our country are unacceptable,” Vladimir Putin said.
According to him, Russia will not “roll” anything until the country has its own similar product.
“And we will finish when we have ours, if we do something, it will only be based on specific situations,” added the president.
In his speech, he said that the authorities will not do anything that causes problems for citizens.
Let us remind you that Putin promised not to shut down foreign Internet platforms which, according to some Russian journalists, “infringe the interests of Russian users and Russian media.”
