Putin spoke with Pashinyan
The leaders of the two countries agreed that the parties to the conflict should take steps to reduce it.
On Tuesday, September 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh by phone with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Kremlin press service reported. It is noted that the conversation took place “at the initiative of the Armenian side”.
“Putin expressed serious concern about the ongoing hostilities. The urgent need for opposing parties to stop the fire and take measures to reduce the crisis was emphasized,” the Kremlin stressed.
It is noted that this is the second phone conversation between Putin and Pashinyan in recent days, they spoke earlier on Sunday.
During the conversation, Putin expressed serious concern about hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. Furthermore, the President of Russia and the Prime Minister of Armenia argued that the opposing sides in Karabakh should take measures to reduce the crisis.
“The urgent need for the opposing parties to stop the fire and take measures to alleviate the crisis was emphasized,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
As you know, on the morning of September 27, Armenia and Azerbaijan resumed hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, accusing each other of bombing the border areas and provoking violence. And today it was reported that Armenia is ready to request military assistance from the Russian Federation.
