The authors of the investigation claim that the attempt on Navalny’s life was carried out by a group of 8 officers from the Russian FSB. The journalists analyzed data from mobile phones and open databases of airlines.
By comparing them, the journalists were able to reveal the names of the likely perpetrators of the opponent’s assassination attempt and their connections to chemical laboratories that have the technical capacity to produce chemical weapons.
But then, realizing that he blurted out too much, he added that they didn’t want to poison. And then, like a real gopnik, he said, because if they wanted to, they would put an end to it.

I cannot imagine that the leader of a civilized country can afford such statements. But this is Russia, which, having nothing else, banally intimidates the whole world with chemical weapons. Therefore, there is nothing to be surprised about.

They have been following the opponent since the moment when, in 2017, he first announced that he wanted to take Putin’s place. And in the speeches of the head of the Kremlin there was a note of fear; in fact, for the first time, he admitted that he was afraid of being overthrown.
And it became obvious that if Putin tries to reach an agreement with the West, he will not do so with Navalny. Became a real threat to Putin, whose name is not even spoken aloud, but is replaced by the phrase “German clinic patient.”

Responding to the question about the investigation into the Navalny poisoning, Putin said it would be “the legalization of the materials of the United States special services” and, in general, Navalny is an agent of these very special services and, with the help from the investigation, he’s trying to catch up with Putin. “
And this is a very revealing statement: after all, who is a bigger enemy for the Russians than the United States? Nobody! Therefore, you must associate your main opponent with the Americans and declare yourself an enemy of the people.
Furthermore, Putin re-voiced the narrative that they are trying to blacken him. They say that this United States has been trying for many years to turn Putin into a monster, but he is a good guy. White and fluffy, as he said himself. And then there’s Navalny, an agent from Washington.

And, they say, precisely because of the ties with the United States, FSB agents have been following Navalny for 3 years. But I have a question: if Navalny is an agent of the State Department and the CIA, then why were 8 FSB agents unable to prove this connection in three years?
FSB caught in a “scoop”
Yes, because it does not exist, and persecution is Putin’s usual practice to eliminate any opposition in Russia. But more importantly, Putin’s behavior and excuses for the FSB’s actions showed how insignificant this so-called “secret service” is.

After all, investigative journalists have established in detail who was spying on Navalny, who exactly followed him in August, and who harassed him. The 8 FSB officers were found to be doctors who have access to chemical weapons, which are being developed by Russian institutions, under the guise of some absurd programs. For example, the Signal Science Center in Moscow.
And all these chains of connections were established using the usual mobile phone billing of FSB officers, which Bellingcat researcher Hristo Grozev carried out not with the help of American special services, but with the help of hackers.

And the helplessness of the FSB was manifested very clearly in Putin’s speech, where he lied so much in 10-15 seconds that it can only be justified by insanity.

This lie is just further proof that Putin really, probably for the first time in 20 years, saw a rival for the presidency, with whom he could not deal.
Hence all these fables about Navalny’s ties to the United States and its special services grow. In fact, Putin expressed the reasons why he wanted to poison the opposition: competition.
Russia is a chemical terrorist
But what is really important in this story? Putin no longer conceals that his regime is really going after his opponents, that FSB officials are monitoring the unwanted around the world and at any moment they can poison them with chemical weapons.
In essence, the Kremlin has recognized that Russia has become an international chemical terrorist in recent years, threatening not only opposition within the country, but also people beyond its borders.
The poisoning of the Skripals, the Bulgarian businessman Gebrev and Navalny essentially became an intimidating factor. They say that Russian chemical weapons could appear anywhere in the world at any time.
It is quite obvious that the rattle of outdated weapons around the world no longer scares anyone and the removal of Russia from the geopolitical map of the world is only a matter of time.

After all, no matter how smiling the Kremlin is, the international criminal court in The Hague will begin to consider the essence of Russia’s war crimes in the Crimea and Donbass in the coming days.
