The Coordination Council of the Opposition in Belarus will reject the financial assistance provided by the European Union. The opposition wants nothing to do with this money.
This was stated by the member of the Presidium of the Constitutional Court Maria Kolesnikova on the YouTube channel of the former participant in the presidential elections Viktor Babariko.
He noted that such a decision was made because the council did not request funding.
“We are not going to have anything to do with this money, we are not going to distribute it,” Kolesnikova said.
He also added that the members of the Constitutional Court learned of the financial aid granted by the European Union through the media.
According to media reports, on August 21, European Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Weigeri, arriving at an informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Berlin, spoke of his willingness to allocate part of the EU funds the 53 million euros of financial aid earmarked for Belarus for the Coordination Council to use for the development of the Coordination Council.
Let us remind you that a criminal case was opened against the Belarusian opposition coordinating council; opponents are accused of trying to seize power.
Earlier, the opposition headquarters asked the current Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, to dialogue and also presented their demands to the current government.
