For more than two months, there have been massive protests against Alexander Lukashenko’s regime in Belarus. Most people go out to the streets on weekends. October 25 is no exception. Furthermore, it is on this day that the ultimatum expires, which Svetlana Tikhanovskaya announced to the self-proclaimed president.

In Minsk, security forces dispersed protesters with stun grenades. Subsequently, riot police officers began firing rubber bullets at the crowd. The Telegram channel Novaya Gazeta reported at least one injured person.
What is happening in Minsk?
- About 100,000 protesters gathered at the Estela.
- Activists in an organized column move through the center of Minsk.
- The security forces demand to stop the march. They block the streets of downtown Minsk. Military equipment and water cannons have already been removed.
- People form a human chain to complicate the detention process.
- The protesters are trying to stop not only riot police, but also unknown masked people.
- Fleeing the persecution, one of the protesters jumped into the water and swam through the Svisloch River. Attentive witnesses helped him up the embankment.
- Dozens of security agents have gathered near the shelter of the National University of Belarus. Students who wanted to march were forcibly pushed into the hostel and the guard closed the door.
- Two journalists were arrested in the center of Minsk: “Komsomolskaya Pravda” correspondent Svyatoslav Zorky and “Novoye Vremya” journalist Dmitry Dmitriev.
- The Minsk metro announced the closure of 12 metro stations at once. At 4:00 p.m. local telegram channels reported that all stations were reopened to passengers.
- On Independence Avenue, security officers have put up barriers and search the personal belongings of all passersby.
- Mobile operators report that during October 25, the Internet may function with interference or even turn off.
- The buildings of the city are decorated with white, red and white flags.
- Although there are still 10 hours left for the deadline of the ultimatum to the current self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, some public institutions in Minsk have already announced that they will have a day off on October 26.

Please note that, unexpectedly, on October 25, Tihanovskaya went into self-isolation due to contact with the COVID-19 patient, Slovenian Foreign Minister Anže Logar.
