17 people were arrested in the protests in Belarus. Previously, 9 detainees in Minsk were reported.

Most of the arrests took place in Minsk: 16 people, one in the city of Zhlobin. Subsequently, seven people were released.
According to “Viasna”, among those detained and released were a citizen and a citizen of the Russian Federation, who were part of the film crew of the British news channel Sky News.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine wrote that a “women’s” march began in Minsk on October 24. In the center of the Belarusian capital, rice carts began to gather.
Before that, Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya announced an ultimatum to Alexander Lukashenko. By October 25, he must meet a series of opposition demands, including resignation.
It was also reported that a rally in support of Lukashenka, which was scheduled for October 25, was canceled in Belarus.
At the same time, the US embassy in Belarus urged Americans to stock up on water, food, medicine and cash for three days, as well as to avoid places of mass rallies.
