PrivatBank announced the consequences of the court decision

The state budget will lose billions from the satisfaction of the Kiev Pechersk court of the declaration of the companies of the Ukrainian businessmen brothers.

The state PrivatBank’s payment of 10 billion hryvnia without reserve to six companies owned by the Surkis brothers will directly harm the country’s economy. This was announced on Thursday, September 3, by the vice chairman of the bank’s supervisory board, Artem Shevalev, on Facebook.

“This forced cancellation will not affect your (the bank – ed.) Current financial condition, but <...> It will have consequences for the country’s economy, ”he said.

So, according to Shevalev, PrivatBank’s annual profit can be reduced by the aforementioned amount, as a result of which the dividends that the bank could pay to the state budget with this income in 2021 will be much lower.

“The budget will miss these billions for the payment of pensions, for defense, for social services, for the fight against the pandemic,” said a representative from PrivatBank.

Furthermore, he added that, having complied with the court’s decision, the bank will also provide loans to Ukrainian businessmen for 10 billion hryvnia less.

Recall that the Kiev Pechersky District Court satisfied the claim of the Surkis brothers’ companies against PrivatBank, forcing it to pay $ 350 million in debt on deposits. In addition, 10 million hryvnia can be collected from the bank by force.
