Food prices rose 1.2% in October
In October, the prices of food rose 1.2%, clothing and footwear 2.0% and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose 4.4%.
In Ukraine, consumer prices in October increased by 1.0% compared to September. And since the beginning of the year, inflation has been 2.7%. This was announced on Monday, November 9, by the State Statistics Service.
It is observed that, in annual terms (as of October 2019), inflation accelerated to 2.6% from 2.3% in September 2020.
Food prices in Ukraine in October 2020 increased by 1.2%. Sugar was the one that rose the most, 22.9% and eggs, 22.7%. At the same time, fruit prices fell 6.2%.
The prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased 0.9%, those of clothing and footwear increased 2.0%. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuels increased 4.4% (including gas increased 18.2%).
Household items and appliances increased in price 0.4%, health care increased 0.4%, transportation rose 0.2%, communications prices remained unchanged, recreation and leisure prices were unchanged. culture rose 0.9%, education rose 0.1%, restaurants and hotels rose 1.1%.
Let us remind you that in September prices in Ukraine increased for the first time in three months. At the end of September, inflation since the beginning of the year was 1.7%.
