The Georgia State Security Service is investigating an attempt to overthrow the government in the country. Specific people planned to overthrow state power in the event of undesirable results in the parliamentary elections.

According to the security service, the defendants in the case formed mobile groups between former law enforcement officers and military personnel to forcibly overthrow the Georgian government.
The special service has already carried out various investigative actions and questioned witnesses. In particular, Irakli Kobakhidze, a member of the Georgian parliament, was questioned and provided the investigation with a list of these groups. Furthermore, as part of the investigation, a citizen was questioned, who gave these lists to MP Kobakhidze.
Now the State Security Service is collecting evidence and identifying those responsible for this crime.
Let us remind you that parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 31. The ruling Georgian Dream party won the elections. The opposition “United National Movement – Strength in Unity” took second place.
