Post-apocalyptic Alyonushka: Residents of the city of Novovoronezh are horrified by the monument to the founder

In the city of Novovoronezh in Russia’s Voronezh region, a recently unveiled monument horrified local residents and sparked a backlash online.

The local portal “MYO! Online” informs about this.

The monument was opened in Novovoronezh in honor of the legendary Alenka, the founder of the town of Novaya Alyonovka, who used to stand on the site of the city. The monument was erected on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the town. The two meter high monument is made up of metal structures with “artistic” wrought iron elements.

However, not all residents were happy with this “art object”. According to them, Alyonushka’s figure is terrifying.

“Finally, the monument to Alyonka was inaugurated. Only now people are crying with shame for your creation,” complains one of the neighbors. “Both laughter and sin!” – write in the comments under the photos of Alyonka on social networks. “Post-apocalypse Alyonushka!” – joke the residents of Novovoronezh.

Some say this is a monument to the difficult year 2020.
