According to her, the main reasons are: the first: the fire “entered” the exclusion zone of the Zhytomyr region from the side of the Drevlyany Reserve, the second, in the area there are power lines, from which it could have arisen the spark, which led to an easy ignition of the dry grass, the third was an arson, as the outbreaks of fire that were widely separated were registered.
According to UNIAN, the fire in the Chernobyl area started on April 4, then the fire was covered by 20 hectares.
On April 6, law enforcement officers detained a 27-year-old resident of Ragivka village (Polissya district, Kyiv region), who amused himself by setting fire to wild grass in several locations near an abandoned local farm. . After that, the fire swept away the wind and was no longer able to cope and extinguish the fire.
The arrested man was handed the suspicion of causing a fire under Part 1 of art. 245 (destruction or damage to wildlife) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article stipulates a fine of 3 to 500 minimum income free of taxes for citizens or restriction of freedom for a period of 2 to 5 years, or imprisonment for the same period.
The damage caused by the ongoing fire in the Chernobyl area reaches tens of millions of hryvnias.
Some fires cannot start because some chimney fires cannot be reached. Currently, the fire has passed through at least 3,5 thousand hectares, and the liquidation is ongoing.
