Poroshenko spoke about this on the air of the program “Freedom of expression of Savik Shuster” on the television channel “Ukraine” during a discussion about the situation of the coronavirus in the country.
“My wife Marina is now dying from the coronavirus in the hospital, her mother is dying, she lost consciousness. Tell Marina this nonsense, that you are now carrying the spectators,” said the former president.
Poroshenko believes that Ukraine’s health system is not prepared to fight the pandemic. He noted that since March no masks have been purchased and hospitals have not been equipped to treat COVID-19 patients.
Poroshenko got sick COVID-19. He tested positive on September 29. First, the fifth president of Ukraine was treated at home, on October 3, his wife Marina reported that the politician was hospitalized with bilateral pneumonia. On October 12, the former president’s press service announced that he had been discharged from the hospital.
An outbreak of coronavirus infection began in late 2019 in China. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the spread of the coronavirus a pandemic.
As of November 6, coronavirus in Ukraine confirmed by 440 thousand people (9721 – in the last day), 8125 patients died, 195.5 thousand – recovered. During the last 24 hours, Ukraine has recorded the highest daily number of recoveries (10,762 people) and deaths (201).
