Ukraine’s fifth president, leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, congratulated the party’s candidate, Volodymyr Borisenko, who wins the Boryspil mayoral elections.
On his Facebook page, Poroshenko called Borisenko’s victory convincing.
“When the ‘servants’ join the HLE, fighting the ‘EU’ representative, the result is expected. Vladimir Borisenko outpointed the powerful candidates by more than 1,500 votes,” said the party leader.
He also expressed his sincere appreciation to all voters for the high level of support from the European Solidarity team.
“Thank you for making a conscious decision in favor of the best candidate! I believe that Vladimir will make Boryspil a comfortable city on a European level,” wrote the fifth resident.
According to preliminary data, Vladimir Borisenko received 28% of the votes and is ahead of his closest competitors by 8% (more than 1,500 votes).
As OBOZREVATEL reported, repeated mayoral elections were held on January 17 in Boryspil and Brovary, Kiev region, as well as Novgorod-Seversky, Chernigov region. The elections in Boryspil and Novgorod-Seversky were held due to the death of the winners of the electoral race – Anatoly Fedorchuk and Oleg Bondarenko. Both died from the effects of the coronavirus.
