The Diet has 2 weeks to announce a new date for the presidential elections.

The Polish State Electoral Commission announced that voting in the presidential elections on May 10 was impossible. RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to RMF24.

Therefore, the Polish electoral commission noted that in the presidential elections scheduled for May 10, 2020, voters were unable to vote for the candidates. Formally, the electoral commission confirmed that the election of the President of Poland did not take place.

Now Polish Marshal Sejm Elzbiet Witek has 14 days to announce a new date for the presidential election.

We will recall, it was previously reported that the President of Poland Andrzej Duda signed a law on voting in the 2020 presidential elections by mail. The vote scheduled for May 10 was expected to be declared invalid and the Polish Sejm would set a new date.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the remote voting bill in the current presidential elections in Poland was passed by the Polish Sejm on May 7. The decision was supported by 236 deputies, 213 opposed it. Voting by mail will be the only way to express the will in the presidential elections.
