The National Police received four new “ghosts”: Skoda Kodiaq cars, which are equipped with an integrated system to control the speed of moving vehicles.
Kirill Khomyakov, head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects of Ukraine, announced this on his Telegram channel. The cost of the cars was 3.7 million UAH.
Thanks to the “ghost” system, police officers will be able to record speed violations while in motion: in the direction of a patrol car, behind and in the oncoming lane.
“These four machines are a pilot project, next year we plan to buy 125 more” ghosts “, – said Khomyakov.
“Ghosts”: police cars without identification markings, with hidden flashing beacons and automatic registration of infractions.
According to Khomyakov, if a violation is detected, the “ghost” will turn on the flashing lights and stop the offending driver or use a loudspeaker.
As previously reported by OBOZREVATEL, a modern video surveillance system for vehicles has been launched in Boryspil, in the Kiev region. In addition, the local police received new service vehicles from the local budget.
