Police in the Kiev region have arrested two young men on suspicion of arson fire on the bank of the Irpin River.

According to the website of the National Police, a video was distributed on the Internet where two young people on scooters without license plates lit a stick on the banks of the Irpin River.

Information on arson has been entered into the unified record of pre-trial investigations in part. 245 (destruction or damage to flora) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Employees of the Kiev-Svyatoshinsky Police Department quickly identified the people who were captured on video. Two criminals were reported to the police department where investigators work with them. These are the residents of Irpin aged 28 and 29. The police seized their vehicles, scooters on which they were moving.

“The problem of declaring suspicions to young people is being solved. For a criminal offense, they are threatened with a fine of 5.4 thousand to 9 thousand minimum income not subject to citizen tax or restriction of liberty for a period of two to five years, or imprisonment for the same term. ” , – reported to the police.

As reported by UNIAN, on April 13, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law that increased sanctions for air pollution and destruction or damage to plant life.

According to the law, the destruction or damage of forests, green spaces around settlements, along railways, as well as stubble, dry wild grasses, vegetation or their residues on agricultural land are punished with a fine of 91,000 to 153,000 UAH.

Violation of forest fire safety requirements entails a fine being imposed on citizens from 1,500 to 4,590 UAH and on officials from 4,590 UAH to 15,300 UAH. If the same led to the occurrence of a forest fire or spread over a large area, then the fine is from 4 thousand 500 UAH to 15 thousand 300 UAH for citizens and from 10 thousand 710 UAH to 18 thousand 360 UAH for officials .
