Kharkiv police opened and immediately closed criminal proceedings for the disappearance of Kharkov Mayor Gennady Kernes. This was reported by the National Police, reports the Ukrainian News Agency.

As he explained to the National Police, the case was opened in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code and was closed due to the absence of a criminal act, since the whereabouts of Kernes are known.

“The police entered the data in the ERDR at the request of the citizen in accordance with the requirements of the current Criminal Procedure Code and closed it. The whereabouts of Mr. Kernes are known,” the department said.

We will recall, earlier, the press service of the National Police of the Kharkiv region reported that the Kharkiv policemen opened a criminal process for the fact of the disappearance of the mayor of the city. The case was opened by the Kharkiv police at the request of a citizen under article 115 of the Penal Code (murder) with the mark “disappeared”. Later with On the website of the National Police of the Kharkiv region, the message about the opening of criminal proceedings for the disappearance of the mayor of the city was removed.
